Nine first time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program on Tuesday.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if a person fails to complete all conditions or is revoked from the program the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Placed by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II were:Barbara Ancypowic, 51, of Brodheadsville, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). She was arrested on May 15 along First St. in Lehighton, after being involved in an accident. Given a test, the result was .26BAC.She was ordered to pay $450 for the cost of the program, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, license suspended for 60 days, make restitution of $1,690.59 to Erie Insurance Company and $100 to Cecelia Moser.Richard French, 29, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on June 2 in the 400 block of S. Ninth St., Lehighton.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program and get a D&A evaluation.Wendy L. Rodriguez, 33, of Albrightsville, was placed for 18 months on a charge of fraud-obtaining food stamps/assistance charged by the state Department of Welfare.She was ordered to pay $350 for the program and restitution of $4,006 to the state.Annmarie Spence, 32, of Weatherly, was placed on a charge fo fraud-obtaining food stamps/assistance filed by the Department of Welfare.She was ordered to pay $350 for the program, restitution of $2,936.24 to the state and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.Placed by Senior Judge Richard W. Webb were:Jared Aaron-Charles Hauser, 22, of Weissport, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-oxycodone. He was arrested on Feb. 15 by Franklin Township police.He was ordered to pay $400 for the cost of the program, get both a D&A and mentla health evaluations, attend anger management counseling and render three hours community service per month while in the program.Rebecca Jean Kremus, 21, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Aug. 3 along North Creek Road in Lower Towamensing Township. Given a test, the result was .13BAC.She was ordered to pay $400 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 30 days.Tanya N. Peters, 26, of Walnutport, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Aug. 14 along SR248 in Palmerton. Given a test, the result was .08BAC.She was ordered to pay $350 for the program and get a D&A evaluation.William Kenneth Schlicher, 20, of Whitehall, was placed on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on July 28 along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was ordered to pay $450 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 60 days.Derek L. Sheckler, 43, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. He was arrested on Oct. 21, 2009, by state police at his residence.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
