Owl Creek Christmas

Christmas is coming early to Owl Creek as the Owl Creek Reservoir Commission presents its free Owl Creek Christmas with Santa on Dec. 11-12. The event will be open each day from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature free drawings for toys, bikes, hams and turkeys. There will also be a campfire for roasting marshmallows, pictures with Santa and crafts for the kids to make.All events will be held at the Lower Reservoir. Food and beverages will be available.Rain dates will be Dec. 18-19, same time.First giftNew Life Assembly of God Church will sponsor a "First Gift" Family Christmas Celebration Friday, at 6:30 p.m. and at 8 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each celebration.The first 100 children at each presentation, ages 4-11, will receive a free gift bag of toys, games and candy. There will also be puppet shows, music, videos, door prizes and more.The church is located at 407 Schuylkill Ave.Calvary UMThe Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at Sunday's 10:25 a.m. worship service in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church. The service will include a presentation by Janelle and Joel Shrum concerning their mission work. The annual congregational Christmas party will be held following the worship service. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, an evening praise and Bible study session will begin at 6:30 p.m.A prayer and share event will be held next Wednesday at 7 p.m.Trinity UCCThe Rev. Dr. David Grant will officiate at the 10 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Trinity United Church of Christ. The service will include Holy Communion. Nursery care is available during the worship service.
