Golden Agers

The next meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers will be on Monday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hall in Summit Hill. Members celebrating birthdays in September, October, November and December will be honored.Special guests will be students from OLOAA who will provide musical entertainment for the members beginning at 1:30 p.m.If enough interest in shown bingo will be played.NesquehoningFood pantry at Meed'sThe monthly distribution of food at the Nesquehoning branch of Shepherd House will take place at the Meed's Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 1-3:30 p.m.The Senior Boxes will be given out on Friday, Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to noon.Summit HillLions ClubMembers of the Summit Hill Lions Club will hold their annual Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. at Macaluso's at the Lantern, Nesquehoning.The guest for the evening will be Bill Moyer, the new president of St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. The club will make its annual donation to the "St Luke's, Committed to Caring Campaign."Reservations are required before Monday, Dec. 13. For more information, contact club president, Dr. Kenneth Vermillion.Bloodmobile setSt. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will sponsor a bloodmobile visit for the Miller-Keystone Blood Center on Tuesday, Dec. 14.The event will take place in the church hall from 2-7 p.m. A goal of 35 units has been set.Miller-Keystone is the only blood supplier to our local hospitals Blue Mountain Health System Lehighton and Palmerton, and the St. Luke Hospital and Health Network (Miner's Memorial, Coaldale).Persons interested in donating are asked to contact the church office, (570) 645-2664, to reserve a donor time.Heritage centerThe Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 W. Hazard St., is requesting new members and volunteers.
