Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two crashes on Monroe County roadways recently.

A one-vehicle crash was reported about 6:33 a.m. on Dec. 2 along Pheasant Run Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Steven T. Ranlett, 17, of Kunkletown, was driving a 1994 Nissan Sentra eastbound when he attempted to negotiate a left curve and hit a patch of ice. Ranlett lost control of the vehicle which spun around counter-clockwise, then rolled over onto its roof.Ranlett was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.A one-vehicle crash occurred about 10:39 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, also on Pheasant Run Road. Troopers said Katherine R. Troia, 21, of Effort, was driving a 2006 Honda Accord eastbound and attempting to negotiate a left curve when the car went onto the berm and struck an embankment. After impact the car rolled onto it roof and slid about 30-40 feet before coming to rest on the roof on the north side of the road.Troia was not injured but damages to the car were disabling. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
