With three different plays on tap, the Palmerton Area High School Drama Club figures to impress the masses.The Drama Club will perform "A Night of One Act Plays" tonight at 7 o'clock in the high school auditorium. Admission is free.Brent Harris, drama coach, said the students have decided to take three completely unrelated plays that each range from 20 to 35 minutes and perform them for the audience.Harris said the first play "In the Tank", is a comical look at life that involves only two characters who happen to be lobsters living in the tank of a seafood restaurant."Their discussions provoke interesting thoughts and ideas about the value of life and the importance of finding the most in each and every minute we have," Harris said.The second show, "A Long Walk to Forever", involves the issue of a childhood friendship between a boy and girl that is broken when the boy is sent overseas with the military, said Harris."The play involves him returning home to the girl, only to find that she is now engaged to be married," he said.Harris said the third show of the night will be "Tracks", which involves a group of ordinary people who find themselves in a subway station."This show takes an inquisitive look at how people view the events of their past as the characters decide whether or not to get on a train without knowing truly where it is going," he said.The cast for "In the Tank" consists of Monica Handwerk as Angela, and Lydia Anthony as Harry; for "A Long Walk to Forever" is Dustin Fierro as Newt, and Erica Hudock as Catharine; and for "Tracks" is Erin Williamson as Homeless Girl; Ben Winn as Old Man; Allyson Arndt as Lawyer; Blake Campbell as Professor; Britney DeFrain as Nun; Elizabeth Hahn as Businesswoman; Harris as Businessman; Emel Rasim as High School Girl; Austin Rabenold as High School Boy; and Alex Mammarello as Waitress.As for the cast, Harris said "all three shows showcase our students and their desire to explore new areas of theater as our club grows here at Palmerton."There will also be refreshments provided at intermissions between the shows, as well as acoustic musical performances on stage from the many musically talented students in the club, Harris said.
