Theft of drugs probed at home

The theft of drugs at the Schuylkill County retirement home is being probed.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a very small amount of several narcotic-based medicine items were removed during a shift change at the Rest Haven home in North Manheim Township. The thefts were discovered during a routine inventory done during the shift change.The items were taken from two locked narcotics drawers in two locked medical carts. The carts were located in a locked medication room with key access limited. The incident occurred sometime between 3-10 p.m. on Nov. 20.Troopers said they are conducting interviews.Troopers also are probing a burglary that occurred at the Tremont Township building located at 166 Molleystown Road. Forcible entry was made through a locked front garage door. Removed was a Craftsman air gun and a 12-piece wrench set. The entry occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, and 6:30 a.m. Saturday.A theft incident was reported at Bob's Pools Inc., located along Long Run Road, in Wayne Township. Troopers said a metal door to a Wood Master 400 outdoor wood stove was taken sometime between Nov. 20-22.
