Helping the Black Friday shopper

A local scouting troop made this morning's hectic start to Christmas buying experience a bit more tolerable today at the Hometown Wal-Mart. Black Friday shoppers were treated to free pastries, water, and hot drinks, courtesy of the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of Troop 777 of St John's UCC in Tamaqua. Water was donated by Nestle Waters and pastries were donated by Entenmanns's. Here, Jessica Barron of Jim Thorpe receives a hot chocolate from Assistant Scout Leader Brian Veglia, left, and Boy Scout Connor Veglia, 15.
