Lehighton Middle School students in Phila. Thanksgiving Day parade

Twenty-five members of the Lehighton Area Middle School's Music Express, a show choir ensemble, will be spending Thanksgiving in Philadelphia.

The Music Express members, all in the seventh and eighth grades, will be participating in the annual Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.Laura Welke, advisor to the Music Express, said the group will be leaving around noon today. They will spend today sight-seeing and practicing.She said the parade will be broadcast on Channel 6 in Philadelphia.At about 10:25 a.m., the Music Express members will be part of a huge choir consisting of about 800 to 1,000 youngsters from throughout the East Coast.The Music Express will also be participating in the parade's grand finale with Santa Claus.Members of the Music Express taking part in the Thanksgiving Day festivities are: Ellen Pekins, Mkayla Blakeslee, Maria Colon, Riley Durishin, Sophia Everett, Julia Fisher, Cassidy Clark, Abbey Applegate, Courtney Berry, Jennifer Plocinik, Marissa Michalik, Madison Teno, Joseph Blaugh, Ben Cordova, Emily Cerimele, Leah Hoover, Marc Andrew, Dallas Laubach, Lexus Hoppes, Alana Andersen, Matthew Shanton, Spencer David, Hunter McCabe, Brandon Solt, and Holly Hinkle.
