Final piece in place Laundromat makes Convenient Food Mart Plaza fully operable in Palmerton

In a pinch and have laundry out the gazoo?

No worries: Simply drop it off, and the 24/7 Laundromat in Palmerton will wash, dry and fold the laundry themselves.Located at 643 Suite Two, Delaware Avenue, the Laundromat is the final piece to ensure the Convenient Food Mart Plaza is fully operable.Flanked by the Convenient Food Mart and the Beer Zone & Eatery, the Laundromat opened in April, according to owner Belinda Taschler.Taschler said the Laundromat features 16 top load, three 30-pound, three 40-pound, and two 60-pound wash machines, as well as 18 30-pound dryers.Customers can utilize the Laundromat's wash and fold service from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.The Laundromat also provides a pick up and drop off service, whereby pick up is between 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, and delivery between 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Tuesday. Outside the borough, it picks up on a Wednesday and delivers on a Thursday.Regular laundry consists of items such as pants, shirts, sweaters, underwear, towels and bedding, Taschler said.However, the Laundromat doesn't pick up or deliver on holidays, she said. In the event of a holiday, pickups are the day before the holiday, with delivery the day after the holiday.In addition, Taschler said the Laundromat now offers dry cleaning, tailoring and steaming services. Dry cleaning and tailoring hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.With easy access to the Convenient Store and Beer Zone & Eatery, Taschler said customers who drop off their laundry can have it made."We have something for everybody," Taschler said. "Guys love to do their laundry now."There's also plenty of off street parking for customers to enjoy a pleasant experience in an air-conditioned atmosphere, Taschler said.For more information on the Laundromat, call 484-547-9307, or 484-547-9015.The Convenient Food Mart in Palmerton reopened in Aug. of 2008 at its new location, 643 Suite One, Delaware Ave. The land was purchased by CF Marts of PA, Inc., in 2007.The store is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Inside, it features an expanded selection of food services, including a Boar's Head Delicatessen with fresh-made sandwiches, wraps, salads-to-go, burgers, and a variety of hot dinner and lunch entrees. An expanded bakery features custom-made cakes and cookies, pies and bread, along with pumpkin roll and birthday cakes.Freshly brewed coffee is also available in a variety of blends and flavors. Cappuccinos, mochas and iced coffees are also available, and there is also ATM service and full service Pennsylvania Lottery.What's more, Convenient Food Mart sells its own brand of unleaded gasoline, available in three grades of regular, plus and premium. Customers may also purchase diesel and kerosene.The original store opened in Nov. of 1986. Barbara and Phil Scherer, the current franchisees, have owned and operated the store since July 1993.Convenient Food Marts of PA is the franchiser of Convenient Food Mart, and operates 30 stores in Northeast Pennsylvania.The second of the three businesses to make its mark was the Beer Zone & Eatery at 643 Suite Three, Delaware Ave., which opened in June of 2009.Owned by Sheila and Matt Reis, the Beer Zone is a dine-in that sells beer, wine, coolers, frozen beverages, pizza, pulled porked sandwiches, cheesesteaks, soft pretzels and snacks.In all, the business offers over 100 selections of six and 12-packs in stock.The shop is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
