The Task Force DVD bin, located at AMVETS Post 83 in Lansford, is overflowing with movies, thanks to the generosity of the community.
Michael Frey, commander of the post, said that since the AMVETS started collecting the DVDs for the project in October, a total of 187 DVDs have been collected and will be sent to the soldiers currently serving overseas.He noted that Task Force DVD is taking place at all AMVETS posts nationwide and is an ongoing effort that will continue indefinitely in the hopes of trying to bring a little comfort to the men and women who are serving this country.DVDs can be either new or gently used and can be any movie. They can be dropped off at the AMVETS, located at 201 W. Ridge St., Lansford, Monday through Friday from noon to close and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to close.Frey added that the AMVETS is thankful for the support of this project to date.
