A Palmerton man plans to seek permission to add a deck onto his property.

Joseph Uhnak will go before the borough's Zoning Hearing Board tonight at 7 o'clock in search of a permit application to erect a deck to his dwelling unit at 884 E. Princeton Avenue.In his rejection letter dated Oct. 20, borough zoning officer Duane Dellecker noted that Uhnak's property is located in an R-1, low density residential, zoning district.The proposed deck would be 15-feet-by-30-feet and is proposed to be zero feet from the side property line, Dellecker said.However, Dellecker said a section of the borough zoning ordinance requires a minimum setback of three feet from the side property line.
