An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held in Tamaqua on Nov. 17. The collection center will be at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St. Hours will be from 1-6 p.m.

Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good general health is eligible to become a blood donor. Tips for a successful donation include: drink extra water and non-alcoholic beverages; avoid caffeine; get a good night's sleep before donating blood; wear cool, loose clothing; eat a healthy meal before arriving at the donation center; and drink plenty of fluids after donating blood.Sponsor for this visit will be Bittner's General Store.
