Bible study slated at Salem United Methodist Church

Victoria Shupp, an active member of Salem United Methodist Church, 4145 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton, was anxious to organize a women's daytime Bible study.

Vicki consulted Betty Anthony and Janet Lerow and they, too, were interested in a Bible study. The three ladies went to Hackman's Bible Book Store and selected "Women of the Bible," a study of 31 women in the Bible, by Frances Vander Velde. The ladies' next task was to find someone to teach the course, and when they discovered there was no one available they decided that the women who would participate in the study would take turns teaching one lesson per week. The Bible study began on July 27 with Betty Anthony teaching the story of Eve. The women alternate teaching each week between the women of the Old Testament and the women of the New Testament.A warm welcome is extended to all women who wish to join the group. The meetings are held each Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the church. For more details contact Victoria Shupp at (610) 826-2235.
