Tamaqua Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

A black Ford Focus, owned by Andrew Lewis of 121 Owl Creek Rd., was parked legally on Schuylkill Avenue when it was struck by a red Ford pickup truck. Witnesses observed the truck back up, swerve around the Focus, mount the sidewalk and then flee north on Schuylkill Avenue.Anyone with information may contact the department at 668-6100.
