Lansford witnessed the largest affair of its kind in the history of the borough in the American Legion parade and Memorial Park dedication, sponsored by J. Wesley Garland Post of Lansford. Legionaires were present in large number from posts throughout the eastern part of the state, principally the coal regions. The procession, colorful in the extreme, was two miles long.
