Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on crashes investigated by troopers in recent days on Monroe County roads.

A two-vehicle crash was reported about 6:56 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the intersection of SR115 and Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Angel Colon, 20, of Mt. Pocono, driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier failed to stop for a stop sign and entered 115 from Weir Lake Road and into the path of Andrew J. Celia, 52, of Effort, who was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, southbound on 115. The front of the Blazer struck the driver's side of the Cavalier.Colon, his passenger, Alaura Alexander, 20, of Blakeslee, and Celia, all were not injured. Troopers cited Colon for the stop sign violation.A one-vehicle accident was reported about 7:06 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, along SR715 in Jackson Township. Troopers said Aida V. Lopez-Cacace, 35, of East Stroudsburg, was northbound and drove off the east side of the road with her 2004 Ford Taurus striking a utility pole along the berm.Lopez-Cacace was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited her for driving on roadways laned for traffic.Another crash occurred along SR715 in Jackson Township about 4:43 p.m. on Wednesday. Troopers said Kira R. Sever, 17, of Effort, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound when she failed to see traffic slowing in front of her. The front of her car struck the rear of a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Robert Neilson, 49, of Blakeslee.No one was injured. Troopers cited Sever for careless driving.A one-vehicle crash occurred about 9:26 a.m. on Thursday along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. Troopers said Joseph Scribbick, 22, of Minersville, was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant westbound in the right lane when he lost control. The rear of the car struck a guard rail on the left side. Scribbick was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
