No injuries in Monroe crashes

No injuries were reported in two crashes investigated by state police at Fern Ridge that occurred on Sunday, Nov. 7, on Monroe County roadways.

A crash occurred about 1:42 p.m. along SR209, at Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Gabriella Perretta, 19, of Effort, attempted to turn left from Weir Lake Road onto 209 north and pulled into the path of Suzanne S. Venturini, 54, of Kunkletown, who was northbound. Peretta's 2001 Oldsmobile Alero struck the front of Venturini's 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. After impact the Blazer left the road and struck a utility pole on the east shoulder.Troopers cited Peretta for vehicle turning left.The second crash occurred about 11:18 p.m. along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. Troopers said Lamont Hubbard, 39, of Wilkes-Barre, was driving a 2000 Nissan Maxima eastbound and struck a raccoon that was crossing the road. The animal caused damage to the radiator and caused all fluid to leak out forcing Hubbard to stop.
