Driver charged in fatal Lehigh crash

A Lehigh County driver has been charged with homicide by vehicle stemming from a fatal crash that occurred last June.

State police at Fogelsville have charged Joseph Mark Hammer, 22, of Apline Circle, Emmaus, with homcide by vehicle while driving under the influence (DUI), aggravaed assault by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle, possession of marijuana/drug paraphernalia, DUI, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, and several motor vehicle code summary offenses.Troopers charged that Hammer was involved in a crash that occurred on June 27 about 1:27 a.m. at 7401 Saint Peters Road, in Upper Milford Township. Killed in the crash was David Michael Hall, 24, of Hillmount Drive, Salem, Va., and injured was Ronald James Hall, 19, same address.Troopers said the charges were filed on Monday. Hammer appeared Monday at the Lehigh County Booking Center for arraignment by District Judge Donna Butler. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
