Eight area residents among 41 placed in probation program

Eight area residents were among 41 who were qualified by Schuylkill County District Attorney James P. Goodman for the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation rogram, for first time offenders who were charged with non-violent crimes. They were accepted into the program by Judge Jacqueline Russell. All agreed to abide by the conditions imposed in order to clear their criminal record. All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted. They were:

William Joseph Johnson, 59, of 36 Hunter St., Tamaqua, driving under the influence (DUI), $500 assessment, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, undergo intensive outpatient substance abuse counseling, enroll in alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license suspended 60 days. Johnson was cited by Trooper Robert Kluge last May 19 when stopped on Pheasant Run Road in West Brunswick Township.Nicholas Brandon McGlothlin, 19, of 338 Arlington St., Tamaqua, DUI, $500 assessment, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 90 days. McGlothlin was cited by Patrolman Jeffrey Wainwright, Tamaqua police, on Nov. 17, 2009.John Frank Belusko, 59, of 115 N. Sheridan St., McAdoo, DUI,$500 assessment, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, attend safety school, receive outpatient substance abuse counselinng, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. On a charge of failing to activate turning signals when required was fined $25 plus $50 costs.
