A pastor who opened up the doors of his church to support Girl Scouting in the Lehighton area was honored with the Friend Award by Lehighton Girl Scouts.
The Rev. Wilson Scott, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Third and Mahoning streets, Lehighton, was presented the award during Sunday's church service."Thank you for all you've done for Girl Scouting for so many years," said Geri Haas, leader of Cadette/Senior Troop 3583.For many years, Girl Scouts have held meetings in the church and Katherine Hosler, service unit director for Lehighton Girl Scout leaders, presented the award, "This award recognizes that you helped build girls of courage, confidence and character so they can create a better world tomorrow.""Thank you for all you've done for Girl Scout," said Janet Rimbey. "I used to meet here when I was the leader of Brownie Troop 604 many years ago."The Rev. Scott, said "Thank you for the honor," as he accepted the award.
