State police at Frackville reported on two crashes investigated on a Schuylkill County road.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 8:35 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, along Mt. Laffee Road, in New Castle Township. Troopers said Monty L. Lash Jr., 23, of Minersville, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound and lost control in a left curve. The car traveled onto the south berm and struck a tree.Lash and his passenger, Justin R. McNulty, 18, of St. Clair, were transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment of injuries. Damages were moderate to the car.Troopers cited Lash for driving on roadways laned for traffic.A one vehicle crash was reported about 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, also along Mt. Laffee Road. Troopers said Lisa Marie Schultz, 19, of Llewellyn, was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound when she swerved to avoid a deer on the road. She lost control of the vehicle and it went onto the south shoulder and struck a tree.Schultz was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
