Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on several crashes investigated by troopers recently on Monroe County roads.

A crash was reported at 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 along State Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Jennifer L. Davison, 28, of Effort, was southbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. She was unable to avoid the deer and struck it. Her 1999 Volkswagen Jetta was disabled due to damages but she was not injured.A crash occurred about 1:14 p.m. on Oct. 23 along SR715 near Smithhill Rd., in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Gabriella Maria Pitchford, 17, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound when she lost control. The car went onto the shoulder and sturck the guard rail and then overturned down an embankment. Pitchford was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.A one vehicle crash occurred about 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 22 along SR115 near Laurel Drive, in Chestnuthill Township. Diane Lasker, 48, of Effort, was driving a 2010 Subaru Outback northbound when he lost control. The car traveled into the southbound lane and then onto the berm where it struck a tree. Lasker was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.Two trucks were involved in a crash along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township about 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 12. Troopers said Reuben B. Strunk, 46, of Bangor, and Matthew Z. Ragan, 28, of Snow Shoe, Centre County, were westbound. Ragan slowed his 1999 Peterbelt truck and stopped. Strunk was unable to stop his 2008 Volvo truck and it struck Ragan's vehicle in the rear. Troopers said Ragan stopped for construction workers.No one was injured. Troopers cited Strunk for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
