A Carbon County driver was killed in a one vehicle crash over the past weekend. State police at Hazleton said the crash occurred about 1:23 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, along SR93 in the Coxeville section of Banks Township.

Troopers said Robert C. Onges, 35, of Beaver Meadows, was operating a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina at a high rate of speed when his car crossed over the opposite lane of travel and struck a utility pole along the berm. After hitting the pole the car hit a dirt embankment which caused the vehicle to go airborne through a second utility pole and then struck a legally parked vehicle before coming to rest off the road.Onges was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
