CCCC will honor 2 individuals and organization at banquet

Carbon County Chamber of Commerce will honor two outstanding leaders of the community and members of an exceptional service organization during the annual Dinner and Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at the Mahoning Valley Country Club.

The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce will be honoring Dan Kunkle with the 2010 Citizen of the Year award.The 750-acre Lehigh Gap Nature Center, located at the intersection of Lehigh and Carbon counties, is an environmental rags-to-riches story and Dan Kunkle is the principal responsible for the triumph so visible along Route 248 near Palmerton. Jim Thorpe Council will honor Jane Kohler, an information specialist with the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau since September 5, 2002. During her time at the PMVB she has provided thousands of visitors to the Jim Thorpe area with information about the four-county Pocono Mountains Region.Palmerton Council has selected as their recipient of the Citizen of the Year as The Exchange Club of Palmerton.Through the years, the Exchange Club of Palmerton has provided invaluable assistance to the local library, to recreational groups, and to such community projects as the restoration of the Palmerton bandstand.
