Halloween events slated in Summit Hill

The Summit Hill Recreation Commission has scheduled some special Halloween events for children in the borough on Saturday, said Monica Marshall, president of the commission.

A Halloween party for youngsters up to age 9 will be held at the Community Center on Saturday from 2-4 p.m.Admission will be a donation to the food pantry. Marshall said youngsters attending must be in costume.Also on Saturday, there will be a dance for youngsters from 10-14 years old at the Community Center from 7-9 p.m.Those attending must wear costumes. Admission is free except for a donation to the food pantry.Music will be provided by disc jockey Thad Hager. Marshall said refreshments will be served.The Summit Hill Fire Department will host a Halloween dance for adults on Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Community Center. Costumes are requested but not required.Music will be provided by the band Shades of Grey. Tickets can be obtained from any member of the department.Mayor Paul McArdle said trick-or-treat night in the borough will be on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m.
