Burglaries, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported on burglaries and theft incidents probed recently.

Troopers said the residence of Andrej Sobol, 54, of 304 Astolat Rd., Effort, Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered by someone who broke a window to gain entry. After breaking the window the criminals crawled inside and removed six novelty guns that were on display above a fireplace. The incident occurred sometime between Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 10.A garage on the property at 1742 Weir Lake Rd., in Ross Township, Monroe County, was entered. Removed was a Craftsman and Crescent brand toolboxes and a Suzuki scooter. Troopers said the Suzuki was damaged and left near a pond on the property. The property is owned by David Borger, 61, and Jody Robert Borger, 40, both of Saylorsburg. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11.The residence at 340 Covered Bridge Rd., in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, was entered by unknown criminals. A window on a rear door was broken to gain entry. Removed was a 33-inch Element flat screen LCD television valued at $600. The property is owned by Lynne Gail Warhurst, 50, of Kunkletown. The incident occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12.Residents along Ramblewood Drive, Pheasant Road and Antler Lane, in Ross Township, reported unknown persons entered their vehicles and stole various items. The criminals smashed car windows to gain entry to some of the vehicles. The incidents occurred sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. on Monday.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
