Theft of copper probed in MaryD

State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of copper from a home in the village of MaryD, Schuylkill Township. The incident was one three incidents probed by troopers.

Troopers said a home along Main St. was forcibly entered through the back door. Removed was copper pipe and copper baseboard. Troopers said the home is unoccupried and listed for sale. The owner is Steven Sweigert, of Allentown.The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 25 and Tuesday, Oct. 12.Troopers also reported on a theft incident that occurred in the 100 block of Winfield Drive, in Blythe Township. Kevin Brittenburg, 36, of Middleport, reported someone removed 10 landscape lights from his property sometime between 10 p.m. on Oct. 7 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 8.Troopers are investigating an incident at Zaprazny's Junk Yard located in the 2400 block of Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, in East Brunswick Township. A white male attempted to pry open a vending machine on the property but was scared off by a security guard. The male fled on foot. The incident occurred about 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The suspect was described as wearing a tan hoodie and camouflage-colored pants.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.
