A Monroe County man is facing several charges following an incident that occurred on Friday, Oct. 8.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were investigating a suspected drug deal in the parking lot of the Carriage Square in Coolbaugh Township, about 7:06 p.m. During the course of the probe officers made contact with several individuals.One of the individuals, Wade Malcolm, 18, of Coolbaugh, was being questioned when he fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued that went across SR196 and into Pocono Farms. Malcolm was apprehended and struggled with officers.He was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of marijuana.Malcolm has been charged with escape, resisting arrest and possession. He was taken to the county prison in Snydersville, police said.
