Parking restrictions for Halloween parade

Visitors are reminded to follow parking restrictions and safety issues for this Sunday's Palmerton Halloween Parade.

There is no parking along the parade route as well as the 600 and 700 blocks of Franklin Ave due to the formation area of the parade. Anyone who disobeys these parking restrictions is subject to ticket or towing.Parents are reminded that children observing the parade must remain on the curb and not out in the streets to obtain candy as it will be distributed at the edge of the curb. The parade committee needs everyone's cooperation to assure the safety of all spectators and participants. The parade will disband on Seventh Street between Lafayette and Franklin Avenue, so parents are encouraged to walk to that area to pick up their children. Seventh Street will remain closed until the parade has completely disbanded. Those residents living in the 400, 500, 600 blocks of Franklin Avenue are asked to use Fifth Street to Columbia Avenue to exit town during the parade. There will be fire police at 5th and Lafayette Ave to assist with any needed access to Columbia Ave.The parade committee thanks the community for their support and cooperation. Anyone who would like more information on the parade may call Sue at (610) 826-7515.
