Coaldale police have arrested an Andreas woman on drug charges.

Christine J. Oxner, 35, of 34 Ash Lane, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and driving while her license is suspended.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Officer Jeremy Talanca, here's what happened: At about 4 p.m. Oct. 2, Talanca was assisting a neighboring police department at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, when hospital security alerted them to a fight in the parking lot.Talanca could hear screaming as he left the hospital with the security guard. They found two females fistfighting in the parking lot. The pair turned out to be a mother, Beatrice Rinker, and her daughter, Oxner.Rinker told police Oxner had stolen her credit card and believed Oxner planned to use it to support her heroin habit.Oxner told police that her grandmother had given her permission to use the card.Oxner and Rinker continued to fight, scream and argue after several requests for them to stop. Finally, Oxner agreed to return the card when faced with the possibility of arrest.Talanca asked her for her driver's license, and as she opened her purse, he saw several needles commonly used to inject illegal substances.Oxner gave Talanca permission to look inside her purse. He found one used needle, seven unused needles and a rope commonly used when heroin is injected.Oxner told him she has had drug abuse problems in the past. Both mother and daughter were told they would be receiving charges in the mail and to leave hospital premises.Oxner drove away in a black Geo Tracker. Back at the police station, Talanca discovered her license had been suspended since 2003.
