Dedication ceremonies at the $4.75 million dollar Panther Valley High School, located just east of Lansford along Route 209, took place this afternoon in perfect mid-October weather and before a crowd estimated by school officials at more than 2,000. A concert by the high school band, directed by William Mitchell Jr., on the stage of the 1,000-seat auditorium, and public touring of the sprawling complex, capped the 50-minute outdoor dedication formalities.
