Halloween parade

If you would like to participate in the Eldred Township Halloween Parade, Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. you are asked to preregister by Sunday, Oct. 17. This is open to the public and free of charge. You are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to the PVEN food bank in place of a registration fee.There are prizes for costumes: Most original; cutest; ugliest, best pair; best group; best float.More complete information and registration forms are available at the Eldred Township municipal building.Chestnut Ridge SeniorsThe Chestnut Ridge Seniors will meet on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. They will be celebrating Columbus Day.Bring a bag lunch and an item for the Chinese auction.Historical societyThe Eldred Township Historical Society will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. Norman Burger of the Polk Township Historical Society will be the guest speaker.Everyone is invited.
