Rydell, Avalon, and Fabian at Penn's Peak on Friday

A concert Friday night at Penn's Peak takes you back to the days of American Bandstand; when rock n roll was king.

Appearing at the Jim Thorpe venue, in a show starting at 8 o'clock, will be three superstars from the Bandstand era: Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, and Fabian.Tickets are $54 and $49 and can be purchased at the door.The concert, "Dick Fox's Golden Boys," brings together three of the biggest heart throbs of the 60s, all of them Philadelphia natives..Avalon's career spans three generations of music, television and motion pictures.He has a long string of Gold Record Million-Seller singles and albums. In 1959 alone Frankie had six solid hits that were in the top 40.Frankie's 30 motion picture credits are quite amazing, with starring roles in such films as "Beach Blanket Bingo" and "How to Stuff a Wild Bikini". However, Frankie, who studied with Wynn Handman in New York and Estelle Harmon in Los Angeles, has always been proudest of his dramatic roles in "The Alamo", "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", and "Sergeant Deadhead".Rydell is reportedly one of the most sought-after nightclub and concert acts in the United States.His performance in "Bye Bye Birdie" and his recordings "Wild One" and "Volare" were just a few of his numerous hits.Fabian has charted 11 hit singles and appeared in more than 30 movies including "North to Alaska," "The Longest Day," and with Elvis Presley in "Love Me Tender."
