This past summer, the Panther Valley Varsity cheerleaders attended UCA camp at Pine Forest's Chestnut Lake Location from August 10th to 13th. The team performed a home dance the first evening that won them 2nd place out of 10 teams who chose to compete in the optional home dance evaluation. In addition to earning many superior ribbons in nightly evaluations during camp, the team was selected as one of only five Elite teams out of 12 varsity teams for the final Camp Championship, a competition in which teams performed material that they learned at camp along with stunts, tumbling, etc. Teams were chosen for this division by staff based on skill level. In the Camp Championship, the team performed exceptionally well and won third place in Cheer and second place in Extreme Routine. No team beat the Panthers twice, and every other team in the Elite Division was AAA or AAAA in size, with the next smallest school having a girls' enrollment of almost double that of Panther Valley. Junior Captain Theressa Eckhart was also selected as a UCA All-American and will be marching with other All-Americans from across the country at a parade in London.
