About 100 people of the Weatherly area met at the Weatherley Elementary School on a proposed medical center. Norman Davis, director and medical supervisor for the Sear Roebuck Foundation, discussed and showed slides of the proposed medical center and outlined services offered by Sears to have the center constructed and placed in operation. A ballot taken on sentiment for such a center showed 99 percent favoring the idea.
