Owl Creek Halloween

The Owl Creek Reservoir Commission has set the dates for its annual Fall Foliage/Halloween Festival. This year's event will be held Oct. 23-24, beginning at noon each day.In addition to hayrides around the reservoir, activities will include a hay maze, pumpkin painting, scarecrow and pumpkin photos, face painting, marshmallow roasting and more. The hayrides will run until 11 p.m. on Saturday (haunted after dusk) and to 5 p.m. on Sunday.Food and refreshments will also be available.Rain dates will be Oct. 30-31.Recovery help"Celebrate Recovery" sessions are held every Friday, 7-9 p.m., at New Life Assembly of God Church, 407 Schuylkill Ave. Anyone who needs help recovering is welcome to attend.For more information, contact Phil at (570) 645-4453 or Drew at (484) 629-3025.Primitive MethodistThe Rev. Rodney Hall will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Primitive Methodist Church. The service will include a children's sermon. Nursery care is available. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.First Steps, a support group for mothers of young children, meets the first Tuesday of each month, from 6-8 p.m., at the church.St. John UCCThe Rev. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. Nursery care is available during the service. The service will be followed by a time of fellowship.The weekly service is broadcast on radio station WLSH, AM1410, at 11:30 a.m. Sundays.Activities for next week include: Monday and Tuesday, rummage sale, beginning at 9 a.m.; Wednesday, choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m.Zion Church, Lewistown Vy.Zion Church, Lewistown Valley will hold its Sunday service at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Sunny Stock officiating. A children's sermon and children's church are included during the service. Sunday School is held at 9:30 a.m.Zion Church is serving a turkey and waffle dinner at the church social hall this Saturday from 4-7 p.m.
