A Selinsgrove man has been charged by McAdoo Police with raping his 10 and 9 year-old nieces in the borough while he was babysitting for them between February and August 2009.

David Henry Miller, Jr., 21 of 5519 Route 15 South, Selinsgrove, has been charged by McAdoo Patrolman Robert Minnick with the rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors.Miller is incarcerated in Snyder County prison on other offenses and was arraigned on Wednesday before Magisterial District Justice Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua.According to the affidavit of probable cause filed with Bayer by Minnick, on June 29 Minnick was dispatched to a South Hancock Street address for a report of a rape. At the scene he was advised by the mother of the alleged victims that her two daughters were raped by their uncle, who she identified as David Miller and who is her brother. She stated the incidents happened in the last year.The victims were taken to the McAdoo Police Station to be interviewed. Their mother told Minnick she found out about the alleged incidents from her sister, who lives in Selinsgrove and has a nine year-old daughter. The sister's daughter said something about her Uncle David touching her, and the sister's boyfriend immediately called the mother to advise her she might want to ask her daughters if anything happened to them.The mother told Minnick that when she asked her daughters if their uncle had touched them, at first they denied it, but within minutes stated yes, he did, in the old house at 425 South Kennedy Drive, according to the complaint.The one girl, who was 10 at the time of the incident, told police that her uncle was babysitting she and her brothers and sisters at the S. Kennedy Drive address when he asked the other children to leave. He then disrobed, touched the girl in her private parts, and had sex with her. She said it happened several times a week for several months. She said Miller told her not to tell anyone or else he would hurt everybody in the house.The other girl, who was nine at the time, told a similar story about her uncle touching her in an inappropriate manner, including vaginal and anal intercourse, which she said would be very painful. She was also told not to tell anyone, according to the affidavit.
