Traffic stop leads to drug arrests

A traffic stop by Pocono Mountain Regional police led to the arrest of two persons on drug charges.

Police said about 1:38 a.m. on Sept. 23 officers stopped a vehicle along SR193 and Renaissance Drive, for a vehicle code violation.A further investigation revealed that the passenger, Kareem Johnson, 31, of Tobyhanna, was in possession of marijuana consistent with street level sales. Johnson was taken into custody for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and later lodged in the county prison.The driver, Katrena Beehler, 21, of Tobyhanna, was also taken into custody and charged with possession.She was processed at police headquarters and later released, police said.
