The Panther Valley Alumni Association will be holding it annual "Meet and Greet" Reunion of all PV graduating classes immediately following the PV-Schuylkill Haven game on Friday, Oct. 1. Members eat and drink for free. Guests are welcome.Donations are also being accepted at PVAA, P.O. Box 32, Nesquehoning, PA 18240. All proceeds go into a scholarship fund.Summit HillHeritage CenterThe Summit Hill Heritage Center, the former St. Paul United Church of Christ, Chestnut and Hazard streets, will hold an open house program on Saturday, Oct. 2.The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.The festivities will begin with a Historical Society lecture from 11 o'clock to noon, followed by refreshments from noon to 1 p.m. A special event for children will take place from 1 to 2, followed by a presentation by Lee Mantz, president of the historical society, from 2 to 3 o'clock. Other activities include a magic show, music by Pat McGeehan and karaoke singing.On Sunday, Oct. 3, the center will hold a Big Band from 1-3 p.m., followed by a light supper and dedication of the building at 4 p.m. The Rev. Wilbur Albright, former pastor of the UCC congregation in town, will officiate while organist Randall Perry will perform.The public is invited to attend.St. Paul LutheranThe Fall Sunday school season for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, will begin this Sunday, Oct. 3. W.E.L.C.A./Auxiliary will meet at noon at the home of Donna Miller.St. Paul's will hold a special congregational meeting on Sunday, Oct. 10, immediately following the worship service. All members are encouraged to attend this important meeting.Methodist ChargeThe schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, Oct. 3, is as follows:Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.The adult Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. in the Coaldale church.Presbyterian churchThe schedule of services for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, Oct. 3, is as follows:Junior choir rehearsal, 8:45 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:15 a.m.; worship service, 10:30 a.m.; and Fellowship coffee time, 11:30 a.m., or after the worship service.The Chancel Choir will rehearse at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6.The Presbyterian Women will resume meeting on the second Monday of each month at 1 p.m. All women of the church are welcome to participate.CoaldaleFall cleanupCoaldale Borough officials have announced the schedule for the town's annual fall cleanup.On Tuesday, Oct. 19 refuse will be picked up throughout Coaldale.Items to be picked up include tires (no more than five), tire rims, auto body parts, refrigerators, freezers, vending machines, dehumidifiers, water coolers, heat pumps, washers, dryers and stoves.All items must have all chemicals removed from them and their doors taken off.In addition, up to 10 bags of garbage will be collected.NesquehoningConservation clubThe meeting of the Nesquehoning Conservation Club will be an outdoor meeting at the First Hollow Reservoir on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m., weather permitting. The gate will be open and you can walk in or drive. In case of rain, it will be held at the regularly scheduled time, which is the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at MapleShade Meadows.
