Crashes probed by PSP Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported on several crashes investigated by troopers recently.
A one vehicle crash occurred about 10:32 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, along Kunkletown Road in the area of Church Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Rhonda M. Anderson, 44, of Pen Argyl, was driving a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound at a speed too fast and failed to negotiate a right curve. The Jeep went onto the berm and struck a tree and mailbox, then overturned onto its roof.Anderson was injured but reportedly treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel. She was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.Troopers probed a crash about 8:50 a.m. on Saturday along Robinhood Drive at Dotters Corner Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Brenton Slusher, 18, of Kunkletown, was driving a Hyundai Elantra southbound when he failed to negotiate a left curve and went onto the berm and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.A hit and run crash was reported about 1:06 p.m. on Saturday along SR534 at Box 1405, Polk Township. Troopers said the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck, black in color, attempted to turn around and struck a fence at a residence, then fled the scene.Troopers said a two vehicle crash occurred about 12:53 p.m. Saturday along SR534 at Jonas Road, in Polk Township. Madalen Silva, 51, of New Jersey, was driving a Chevolret Equinox L5 southbound while Richard William, 52, of Danielsville, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound. Silva attempted to make a left turn onto Jonas Road and her vehicle was struck by the bike.No injuries were reported with damages disabling to the vehicles.A one vehicle crash was reported about 12:12 p.m. on Sept. 22 along SR209 in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Benjamin B. Eyer, 24, of Pen Argyl, was driving a 2007 Freightlinger tractor when it left the road and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported. Eyer was cited for careless driving.Troopers said a crash occurred about 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 along West Lizard Creek Road (SR895), in East Penn Township, Carbon County. Brenda Snyder, 56, of Lehighton, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Impala eastbound, west of Schleicher Lane, when she veered off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole head-on. The car then slid down an embankment before coming to rest.Snyder was injured and taken to an area hospital, troopers said. The car had to be towed from the scene.
