Plenty of toss-ups make it time for a move

It's only Week Four, but I think I've been in the basement long enough.

Looking at the list that was compiled for this week's Grid Picks, I see at least seven or eight games that can go either way. It's going to be interesting to see how many games we all pick alike this week.Last week proved to be another disaster. Seven wrong, but lucky enough to have a couple of other guys right around the same. As a matter of fact, one guy who I'll fail to mention, had nine wrong. It's been hard to figure soome teams out. I guess that's why I'm where I am at in the standings. So the crystal ball has been shined up pretty good this week so it can give me the best possible choices for each of the games. Here goes:LEHIGHTON AT PLEASANT VALLEY - Really liked what I saw from the Indians last week. They have a lot of options. The Bears aren't that bad either. After opening night losses, both teams are on two-game win streaks. Our first toss-up ... Pleasant Valley, 21-14.PANTHER VALLEY AT JIM THORPE - Olympians ran in to the best team in the Anthracite Football League last week and took a shellacking. North Schuylkill could be the best AA team in the state. Panthers have a lot of growing to do and injuries don't help ... Jim Thorpe, 28-7.MAHANOY AREA AT TAMAQUA - Blue Raiders have hurt me three weeks in a row (yes every week this season), but I'm willing to give them one more chance ... Tamaqua, 28-21.PIUS X AT MARIAN - Lots of questions looming around "Colt Country" right now. It's been a tough week for Stan Dakosty and Co. They need some lovin' ... Marian, 14-0.SOUTHERN LEHIGH AT NORTHWESTERN - Well, I'm tired of losing every time I pick against the Spartans. It took a while, but after last week's win over Bangor, I think I'm really starting to believe in them ... Southern Lehigh, 27-6.NORTHERN LEHIGH AT PALISADES - It's the longest regular season ride of the season for the Bulldogs. It'll be a quick one ... Northern Lehigh, 42-0.PALMERTON AT SAUCON VALLEY - The Blue Bombers want to continue where they left off last week against Salisbury. And they can ... Palmerton, 16-7.CATASAUQUA AT SALISBURY - Falcons have so many injuries they could fill their own hospital ward ... Catasauqua, 42-0.Wilson at Pen Argyl - This is the biggest game in the Colonial League this week, especially for the Warriors who don't want their second loss. The Green Knights have had eyes set on this one since the pre-season ... Pen Argyl, 14-13.MINERSVILLE AT SHENANDOAH VALLEY - The Blue Devils shocked up last week when they beat Tamaqua. The Miners also shocked us last week when they lost by just a point to Schuylkill Haven. They crystal ball says ... Shenandoah Valley, 21-20.POCONO MT. EAST AT STROUDSBURG - The Cardinals have shown us a lot more in the first three weeks than the Mountaineers ... Pocono Mt. East, 28-14.EASTON AT PARKLAND - Trojans took it on the chin last week from Emmaus. This week, they take it again ... Easton, 21-7.EMMAUS AT FREEDOM - Have to shake the crystal ball up real good for this one since the Green Hornets seem to be playing everyone tough ... Freedom, 28-21.LIBERTY AT WHITEHALL - Liked the Hurricanes a lot more when Tim Moncman was head coach. Some of the success that Brian Gilbert had when he was at Palisades has rubbed off on the Zephs since he joined the staff ... Whitehall, 14-13.NORTH SCHUYLKILL AT SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Spartans haven't given up a point yet this season. There's a chance this week, but don't bet on it ... North Schuylkill, 35-0.
