LALLC plans Pink Light Walk to promote breast cancer awareness

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club is hosting its fourth annual Pink Light Walk on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Lehighton Recreation Center. The annual event promotes breast cancer awareness.

Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. Walm up is at 6:30 p.m., followed by the walk. Participants will be walking from the Lehighton Recreation Center to the Lehighton Amphitheatre and back.All those participating are asked to wear a pink shirt to increase awareness of breast cancer.In addition there will be a decorate your bra contest.Layne Roberts, the "Doctor" from Penn's Peak Radio will be the honorary chairperson for the event.Participants need not be a survivor to be involved.Pink Light Bulbs will be available to commemorate the event and it is hoped that those residing along the route will have them lit on their porch.Following the walk, light refreshments will be served and there will be a Longaberger basket raffle. There is no charge to participate in the event.There will be a goody bag for the first 300 registrants. To register, go to
