A Lehigh Township man who shot two of his neighbors to death Wednesday evening is in custody.
Barry L. Soldridge Jr., 38, was identified by police as the suspect in the fatal shootings that occurred in a rural section in the Danielsville section of the township. Neighbors reportedly saw a car go down the private driveway before hearing screaming and about a dozen shots.Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli identified Soldridge as the suspect in the shooting late Wednesday night. Soldridge was reportedly charged with criminal homicide, arraigned this morning in Lehigh Township, and was sent to Northampton County Prison without bail.Northampton County Coroner Zachary M. Lysek identified the victims Thursday morning as Derek W. Henry, 36, and Candice M. Shuey, 22, both of whom lived in separate houses on N. Cottonwood Road.One news source reported that the shooting was the result of a love triangle involving the two men and woman. Neighbors reportedly said Shuey was once a live-in girlfriend of Soldridge but had currently been dating Henry.Neighbors also reported that Soldridge had served in Operation Desert Storm while in the military.State police were scheduled to hold a news conference Thursday at the state police barracks in Bethlehem about the case.
