Monroe man jailed on multiple counts

A Monroe County man was jailed over the past weekend on multiple counts.

State police at Lehighton said John William Tutko, 46, of Brodheadsville, was arrested following an incident that occurred about 5:37 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 11 Hickory Lane in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.Troopers were called to that address for a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers placed Tutko under arrest for harassment. The listed victims are Rose Burd, 76, of Effort, Walter Kirchner, 54, and Debra Kennelly, 51, both of Saylorsburg.Troopers said Tutko was also charged with resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and aggravated assault after he caused injury to a EMS worker who was attempting to render medical assistance to him at his request.Tutko was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Snydersville in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. before DJ Debby York of Brodheadsville.
