2 cyclists injured in Rte. 248 accident in Towamensing

Two motorcyclists were injured when their bikes were involved in a crash about 1:10 p.m. on Sunday along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at Lehighton said Henry D. Wagner, 68, of Perkiomenville, Montgomery County, and James W. Bissey, 48, of Philadelphia, were both westbound with Wagner slightly ahead of Bissey. Wagner traveled onto the raised median that separates the east and westbound lanes, then returned to his lane and into the path of Bissey.The front of Bissey's bike hit the rear of Wagner's. After impact Wager's bike fell in its left side and Bissey's fell in its right side. Both bikes slid for a distance before coming to rest near Club Road.Both bikers fell off the bikes and were injured. They were both transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by ambulance. Both bikes were towed from the scene.
