Panther Valley Band Boosters

The next meeting of the Panther Valley Band Boosters will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, at the Panther Valley High School band room.Summit HillMethodist ChargeThe schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, Sept. 19, is as follows:Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.The adult Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. in the Coaldale church.Historical societyThe Summit Hill Historical Society is looking for loans/donations of historical items that can be used for displays in the windows at the museum. Among the suggested items are things about town history, art, and sports related or holiday themed artifacts.Anyone who has items to be displayed are asked to call Maxine Vermillion, (570) 645-9772.Water authorityThe Summit Hill Water Authority will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. John Michalik, president, will be in charge of the session.LansfordMovie nightThe Lansford Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a free movie night, featuring Popeye cartoons, at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Lansford pool. If it rains, the movie will be held in the Community Center, 1 W. Ridge St. Those attending are reminded to bring folding chairs or blankets.CCD registrationSt. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, has scheduled CCD registration sessions for youths from those churches who attend Panther Valley School District schools. They are as follows:Saturday, Sept. 18, 10-11:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, 9:30-11 a.m.; and Wednesday, Sept. 22, 6:30-7:30 p.m. The sessions will be held in the church social hall.Zion Lutheran ChurchMorning worship begins at 9 a.m. Sunday. A healing service will be held during worship. The Rev. John Hazel is pastor, (570) 645-3469. Visitors are always welcome.The Protestant Slovak Cemetery Association will meet in the church basement, Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Anyone with an interest in the cemetery is welcome to attend.The members of the parish council will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Summit Hill.Delinquent billsLansford Borough will be conducting the Delinquent Sewer Transmission collection shortly. Residents who wish to avoid further fees and possible water shut-off, are asked to remit their amount due to the borough office or mail it to Lansford Borough, P.O. Box 126, Lansford, Pa. 18232.
