Twelve enter guilty pleas

Twelve people entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in the Schuylkill County Court and Judge Jacqueline Russell sentenced seven and deferred sentence for five to Oct. 20. Those sentenced were:

Jeffrey T. Huben, 19, Mount Carmel, retail theft of a jacket from Sears Store, Schuylkill Mall, was placed on probation two years and ordered to perform 20 hours community service.Michael Angelo Giannelli, 33, Pottsville, possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) and perform 20 hours of community service. On a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $25 plus costs.Caleb Aaron Baver, 22, Orwigsburg, resisting arrest, 12 months probation, pay $50 to CJEA and perform 20 hours community service.Brian Thomas Karlick, 24, Mahanoy City, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (CS), was given credit for serving eight days in the county prison and placed on probation 23 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, perform 20 hours community service and make restitution to $365 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Luis Anton Guadalupe, 23, Reading, receiving stolen property was given credit for serving 354 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA, perform 20 hours of community service and make restituiton of $2,443.67 to All State Insurance Company. On a charge of being involved in an accident in Pottsville and failing to remain on the scene was placed on probation for 12 months to run concurrent and on a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 plus costs.Russell accepted guilty pleas from six people whose sentences were deferred pending a pre-sentence investigative report to be prepared by the adult probation department. They are:Julia Elizabeth Keen, 28, Pittsburgh, pleaded guilty to charges of crirminal conspiracy to commit contraband in state correctional prison in Ryan Township, contraband controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession.Tressa L. Peterson, 40, Shenandoah, retail theft of package of diapers, hair products and cleaning product valued at $29.12 from Redner's Warehouse Market, Shenandoah.Richard Gregory Lynn, 25, Gilberton, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol in Shenandoah.Gregory Alan Miller Sr., 49, Orwigsburg, DUI on Pheasant Run Road in West Brunswick Township, driving while operating privileges were suspended, failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic and careless driving.Justin Thomas Reinhart, 21, Ringtown, DUI in Shenandoah and DUI as a minor. He was 20 years old when cited.
