Schuylkill man facing theft count

A Schuylkill County man is facing a charge of theft of a motor vehicle following an incident that occurred late last month.

State police at Frackville said Colin Thomas Houser, of Pine Grove, was arrested for the theft of a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlas Sierra from the J.W. Zaprazny Inc. property at 2509 Summer Valley Rd., in New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township. The car was stolen overnight of Aug. 30-31, troopers said.Troopers allege Houser took the car from a lot at the firm, removed the state registration plate from his vehicle and placed it on the stolen car. The vehicle was located at 2161 Summer Valley Road on Tuesday, Sept. 7.Houser was taken into custody and arraigned before duty District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon, on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and several summary motor vehicle code violations. He was released on $20,000 unsecured bail.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.
