PSP Lehighton report on crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on several crashes investigated by troopers in recent days.

A crash occurred on Aug. 27 about 10:30 a.m. along SR33 in Hamilton Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Geoffrey S. Martin, 27, of Saylorsburg, was northbound and made a lane change and struck a 2005 GMC truck driven by Roberto Orozco, 37, of Cranbury, N.J., with his 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo hitting the rear driver side.Troopers said Martin was taken into custody for suspected drunk driving. Troopers added that a driving under the influence (DUI) charge is pending.Troopers said a crash occurred at 5:55 p.m. on Aug. 28 along Weir Lake Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Cornna L. Parker, 21, of Wind Gap, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta and negotiating a left curve and lost control. The car went onto the berm and down a small embankment and rolled over. The car came to rest on its wheels, troopers said.Parker was not injured. She was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.A crash was probed on Aug. 29 about 2 p.m. along Dorshimer Road at New York Blvd., in Polk Township. Troopers said Robert Roselli, 52, of Kunkletown, was northbound and Christopher Kautz, 40, of Brodheadsville, was southbound. Troopers said Roselli failed to negotiate a right curve and entered the southbound lane where his Dodge Caravan collided into Kautz's Chevrolet 1500 truck. After impact the truck then struck a tree along the berm.No one was reported injured but damages were disabling to both vehicles.A one-vehicle crash was reported on Aug. 29 about 1:06 a.m. along Mount Eaton Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Joanne B. Robuck, 22, of Bangor, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound when the car left the road and struck a tree. Robuck was not injured. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.On Aug. 30 at 4:40 p.m. a two-vehicle crash occurred along SR209 in Polk Township. Troopers said Donald E. Buskirk, 64, of Saylorsburg, was stopped behind a school bus near the Luna Rosa Restaurant, when his 2001 GMC Sierra truck was struck in the rear by a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Dorinad L. Hartranft, 38, of Kunkletown.Hartranft sustained a minor injury in the crash and was treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel. Buskirk was not injured.Troopers said Hartranft was cited for following too closely.A crash was reported on Sept. 2 at 6:26 p.m. along Mountain View Drive, in Polk Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Kunkletown was driving a 1996 Suzuki Rodeo northbound at a high rate of speed and approaching a curve. The vehicle went onto the berm and caused the teen to lose control. The Rodeo struck an embankment and then overturned, coming to rest on its wheels against the embankment.The teen was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
