At 7 p.m. each Wednesday St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St.,Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful eveningservice with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, briefevening prayer. For those who wish to come early, a simple supper is servedat 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult and children's Bible study at 6:30.For more information, call Pastor Marjorie Keiter, 645-0356.PV golden agersThe Panther Valley Golden Agers meeting was held on August 23 with an indoor picnic at St. Joseph's Social Hall. Sixty five members enjoyed the affair. Everyone agreed to hold the picnic annually.Ruth Ann Feane read a poem "The Beach". . appropriate for the season. Sue Dopira led the singing with a good variety of songs.The Hospitality Committee for September and October are Minnie Kennedy, Lucille Hosier, Mary Ann Stotelmyer, and Betty Marek.The next meeting will be held on September 13 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Social Hall in Summit Hill. Bingo is scheduled to be played after the meeting.NCFC auxilaryThe Ladies Auxiliary to the New Columbus Fire Company will hold a meeting tonight (Sept. 7) at the fire company at 7 p.m. with president Gerry McConnon in charge.
